Uber Commute

Context

76 million people drive to work alone each day. At Uber, we knew that our existing technology could be leveraged to match neighbors who live and work near each other in a casual carpool. This carpooling product could extend simple door-to-door transportation to the areas where it was often much too expensive to use Uber’s other products to commute.

Objective

User Uber’s existing products and infrastructure to build an entirely new carpooling product and do so as quickly as possible.
